KUZ Kulturzentrum Mainz

Is a distinctive cultural venue set in a former industrial complex that blends raw architectural character with a vibrant contemporary arts scene. Its flexible halls, high ceilings, and exposed materials create an inspiring atmosphere well suited for our vibrant Serious Play community. Located just steps from the Rhine River, KUZ offers a unique mix of historical depth and creative energy.

The Golden Mainz and its Sights

A tour through the city’s history from its beginnings to the present day: Roman times, the cathedral, the old town, and modern downtown Mainz. For 1,000 years, St. Martin’s Cathedral and its “cathedral hill” have shaped the cityscape of Mainz. The tour then takes you to the historic old town with its pretty half-timbered houses, picturesque corners, and quaint squares. There may be restrictions on cathedral visiting hours on weekends.

Hike Through the Vineyards, & Wine Tasting

Mainz is located in Germany’s largest wine-growing region, Rheinhessen. Take a guided walk through Mainz’s vineyards under the open sky. Taste 5 Mainz wines under the guidance of a winemaker and enjoy a Mainz winegrower’s snack. Experience Rheinhessen at its most beautiful and enjoy the sweeping views across the countryside. The start is in the Laubenheim district and transportation can be arranged from the KUZ.

Geocaching: Geo Play Mainz

You want to discover Mainz in a whole new way? Geo Play has an exciting team event in store for you that combines geocaching, an outdoor escape room, and a city tour. Equipped with GPS and a compass, you will solve puzzles and determine coordinates together. This is an active and playful way to discover Mainz. Curiosity, creativity, and teamwork are the top priorities. You will bond with your team, work out solutions together, and have a blast. And, of course, the treasure awaits you at the end!

Hops and Malt: Beer Brewing in Mainz

In the mid-19th century, there were more than 40 breweries in the wine town of Mainz, and yet beer still had to be imported. Evidence of the former beer halls and breweries in Mainz can still be found today. Join a guided tour that includes a brewery visit, beer tasting, and curious anecdotes.

Mogontiacum: A Roman City

500 years of Roman influence have left impressive traces in Mainz that can still be seen today. Join us on a 2-hour tour of Roman Mogontiacum that will take you from legionary camp to the capital of Upper Germania. The tour begins at the remains of the Roman theater, once considered the largest stage theater north of the Alps. It continues to the tomb of Drusus, the stepson of Emperor Augustus, and then to the late antique Roman gate on the Kästrich.
